In this letter to the president Gerald Soonagrook of the Native Village of Gambell, Ron Kreizenbeck reiterates EPA's understanding of concerns raised by the tribe concerning FUDS at Gambell during a face-to-face consultation in August 2001, and outlines their next steps for the site. Concerns raised by the tribe were related to the speed of site cleanup; public health in areas near the site; tribal input into USACE's planning; and more. EPA States that they will review USACE's site cleanup process, as well as meet with ADEC to hear their perspectives on the cleanup and USACE's work. Finally, EPA states that they will review the tribal community's desires to place the site on the NPL.
